The City's 2010-2019 Capital Budget

On Monday, November 23, City Council will review the 2010-2019 capital plan. The capital plan for the next 10 years totals almost $1,244 million based on current projections. During budget discussions this year, Council will consider approval of both current and multi-year capital projects totaling $108 million.

The capital budget indicates the funds needed for the first year of the 10-year capital plan period. Most of The City’s capital expenditures are planned on a long-term basis to make them more manageable. The estimates that are included in the 10-year capital plan are placeholder values for the funding that is expected to be required in each of the 10 years. Longer-term planning allows The City to tailor projects to the changing needs of the community and to better manage finances.
